About Nordmann Fir Christmas trees
Originating from southern Russia The Nordmann Fir (Abies nordmanniana) has become the most popular Christmas tree bought in the UK due to its beautiful shape, excellent needle retention qualities and deep green foliage that is soft to the touch making them children and
To maximize the display life of your Christmas tree we offer the following recommendations:
If you are storing your tree outside before you bring it indoors, stand it in a cool dry place out of the sun and wind with the cut base in water
When you decide to bring the tree indoors, cut 25mm/1" off the base of the tree, this allows the tree to draw up water more easily prolonging needle retension.
We highly recommend that you use a tree stand that holds water and that you check the level daily. Your tree requires a constant supply of water similar to cut flowers to maximise their display time.
Try to avoid locating the tree next to direct heat sources such as radiators. Underfloor Heating can be particularly challenging for all christmas trees and we recommend placing your tree on a small covered pedestal similar to a pallet to deflect the rising heat around the tree branches.
